HELPING MONMOUTH, OCEAN, & ATLANTIC COUNTIES

On October 29th, 2012 Hurricane Sandy devastated the northeast.

Almost a decade after Sandy, cumbersome aid application processes, inadequate insurance payouts, and instances of contractor fraud or negligence have left thousands of New Jersey families displaced or living in unsafe conditions in an unfinished home.

SBP’S RESPONSE

The last nonprofit dedicated to Hurricane Sandy-related rebuilding in the state of New Jersey, SBP serves in Ocean, Monmouth, and Atlantic Counties, the three areas most impacted by that storm. SBP has future-proofed the homes of over 200 families in New Jersey, rebuilding in a way that is efficient, sustainable, and resilient, and serves low- to moderate-income residents with a special focus on families with small children, the elderly, disabled persons, war veterans, and the under- and uninsured.

SBP continues to show its long-term commitment to impacted residents through its partnership with the State of New Jersey to identify and serve Sandy survivors who are still in need of safe, secure housing. SBP also bridges reimbursement grants so construction avoids unnecessary delay.
