SBP, in partnership with the East Florida Regional Planning Council and long-time partners Farmers Insurance and AT&T, is hosting a Regional Recovery Acceleration Week in Central Florida to share best practices and lessons learned with elected officials, leaders from area foundations, and recovery NGOs to ensure a prompt, efficient, and predictable recovery in the aftermath of the Hurricane Ian.

If you are a local government leader there are key decisions you can make to shrink the time between disaster and recovery for your most vulnerable citizens. SBP will share a series of sessions including Preliminary Unmet Needs Assessment, Lessons Learned from Response to Recovery, Anatomy of a Disaster, Financing Long-Term Recovery, and Preparedness with an Insurance Focus.

This course is ideal for county judge-executives, mayors, departments of local government, and emergency managers.

After a disaster, homeowners need recovery to be as prompt and predictable as possible in order to limit the amount of time they suffer the effects of displacement. SBP will present our proven-effective rebuilding model based on the Toyota Production System (TPS).

This course is ideal for local housing repair and disaster recovery, and non-profit organizations.

FEMA funding is a critical component of long-term recovery for impacted communities however, the process to apply for and appeal FEMA awards has become increasingly burdensome and complicated over the years. SBP's FEMA Appeals Program helps disaster survivors access more funding to support their immediate and long-term needs.

This course is ideal for legal aid organizations, disaster case managers, and non-profit organizations.

Long-Term Recovery Groups are critical in community recovery. Our instruction includes an overview of the disaster recovery process, organizing the LTRG, financing the LTRG, common pitfalls of LTRGs, and building a culture of preparedness within the community.
