December 2022: Louisiana Tornadoes
A total of 21 tornados touched down across Louisiana over the past two days, causing three fatalities and leaving thousands without power. In the greater New Orleans areas, tornados touched down in the Lower Ninth Ward, Arabi, Marrero, St Charles, Gretna, and Laplace. In the coming days, the SBP New Orleans team will conduct damage assessments and check in with clients across the impacted regions. We are also connecting with partner NGOs and local government to understand the impact across the state.
