Rebuilding for America’s Veterans

SBP is dedicated to supporting the well-being of low to moderate-income veterans by helping them rebuild their homes. By returning veterans to functional homes, SBP supports their individual freedom, provides equality of opportunity, and promotes self-sufficiency, each of which is an essential component of American culture and values. We currently offer two programs specifically for veterans homeowners who exemplify hard work and resourcefulness, having spent their lives devoted to preserving and protecting American freedoms.

Got Your Back Fund

SBP’s Got Your Back Fund prioritizes repairs and rebuilding for low-income, disaster-impacted veterans, ensuring they never have to wait to rebuild their homes and lives. For America’s heroes, a predictable path forward can mean the difference between reaching their breaking point and successful, long-term recovery. Signature support from Viatris has positioned SBP to be a leading disaster-rebuilding organization for America’s veterans, supporting their long-term recovery and future resilience.

Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification Program (VHRMP)

Low-income veterans, especially those living with disabilities, are often the last to self-advocate but face a high number of barriers and are among the populations most severely affected when a disaster strikes. A drawn-out recovery without a predictable path forward means prolonged trauma for those who were impacted, and this is especially true when safe and secure housing is lost. Through the Veterans Housing Rehabilitation and Modification Program, SBP addresses this problem by rebuilding, repairing, and performing modifications on homes for low-income veterans living with disabilities. This program currently prioritizes veterans with the highest needs in New Orleans and Southwest Louisiana, Houston Texas, and Puerto Rico. Through this project, SBP performs both interior and exterior repairs and modifications such as drywall, bathroom rebuilds and modifications, re-roofing, and full rebuilds when needed.
