Post-Disaster Training

Recovery Navigation: The Path Ahead

  • Post-Disaster assistance navigation guidance. Here we provide tools for supporting survivors through working with their insurance company, FEMA, and SBA, as well as providing guidance on avoiding contractor fraud and what work is safe to DIY.

Pre-Disaster Training

Client Services Coordination

  • Understanding client eligibility, communication, and the approval process.

Resilient Building

  • Taking advantage of an opportunity to rebuild - how do we build back more resiliently? An overview of IIBHS's Fortified program and easy rebuild tips to incorporate into recovery work to make a more resilient home.

FEMA Applications and Appeal Process

  • How to support disaster survivors through the FEMA Appeal Process. Easy language to use to walk them through receiving a FEMA award that provides them with all eligible assistance.

Construction Coordination

  • Working with subcontractors, performing damage assessments, building scopes, and estimates, and ensuring high-quality construction work.

Toyota Production System, Outreach and Storytelling

  • A brief overview of SBP’s history with TPS and how it has shaped SBP’s work, as well as the importance of community outreach and storytelling
